The Brief
A diplomat from a Commonwealth nation lost control of some intimate images. It was suspected that her ex-partner, working for the nation’s defense intelligence community, began publishing photos anonymously on gossip and other file sharing websites. The risks of allowing the threat to continue involved the personal cost of reputation damage, loss of employment and possibly compromising national security if the diplomat threat would turn into extortion.
The Outcome
Our Cyber Crime team was able to determine the antagonist’s location and identify various digital artifacts for evidence.
As a result of our work, the wrongdoer stopped all malicious actions. The person is no longer posting, threatening, or communicating with the diplomat.
